We are so excited to share with you the fabulous news of the launch of the Chabad of Maine Community Torah Campaign! Spearheaded by generous local residents, a new Torah scroll will be written specifically for the Jewish Community here in Maine!
A new Torah scroll is a sign of a vibrant community - a healthy, robust, and flourishing community that is brimming with Jewish pride. Without labels, without differences and regardless of background or affiliation, this Torah will connect us all to each other. Individual letters will come together to form a word, a sentence, a paragraph, a portion, a book, until the completion of an entire Torah scroll uniting us as one people.
Our sages have taught that the mitzvah of joining in the writing of a Torah scroll has the special power of bestowing G-dās blessings on the participants and their families for all their material and spiritual needs. Today, this unique opportunity becomes yours!
Join in the unity by participating in the writing of this historic Community Torah Scroll! Every part of the Torah- from individual letters to entire weekly portions- can be endowed in your honor or in memory of your loved ones.
The Completion Celebration, and the inscribing of the final letters will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
